Lincoln teenager killed in stabbing, 14-year-old suspect in custody
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln Police Department said a 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death overnight and the suspect in custody is 14-years-old.
Just before midnight Saturday, officers responded to a home on North 64th Street, near Adams Street, on a report of a fight in-progress.
Upon arrival, officers found a 16-year-old Lincoln boy who had been stabbed in the chest. Officers rendered aid until he could be transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
A 14-year-old Lincoln boy was taken into custody. Police said they aren’t seeking any other suspects but are asking witnesses or people with information to come forward by calling LPD’s non-emergency number at 402-441-6000 or if you would like to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
No names are being released at this time due to the age of the those involved and to allow for family notification.
Officers are still on the scene gathering evidence in the 3000 block of North 64th street and traffic will be restricted in the area for an indefinite amount of time. Police ask the public to avoid the area.
