OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Omaha Police Department is asking for the public’s help after a crash Friday afternoon near Aksarben that left one in critical condition.

Officers were called to the scene at 72nd and Pacific Streets shortly after 3 p.m. Friday.

An investigation found that a 73-year-old man was southbound on 72nd Street on a Kawasaki motorcycle. A “dark-colored” SUV then hit the back of the motorcycle.

A report states that the suspect vehicle fled from the area.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are asking for assistance from anyone who saw the crash. Witnesses are asked to contact the Traffic Office at (402)-444-5626 or Omaha Crime Stoppers at (402) 444-STOP.
