ORLANDO, Fla. (WOWT) - In an update Monday, NPPD crews say they are heading home after working to restore power to those hit by Hurricane Milton.

Technicians from the Nebraska Public Power District responded to Augusta, Georgia in the beginning of Oct. after Hurricane Helene‘s destruction. They later moved their efforts to Orlando, Florida following Milton.

After the 15-worker crew was in Orlando for a couple of days, they were cleared to return home. An NPPD official says that they should be arriving back in Nebraska late Monday.

A release says that the team is made up of workers from Ainsworth, Atkinson, Bassett, Chadron, Humboldt, Kearney, Lexington, Norfolk, O’Neill, Plattsmouth, and Ravenna.
