Body of southeast Nebraska man recovered from Missouri River

AUBURN, Neb. (WOWT) - The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office recovered a body from inside a car found in the Missouri River.
Alexander Mayfield, 43, who was reported missing on July 31, was identified as the person found in the car, authorities told 6 News Wednesday.
Mayfield’s car was found with the assistance of Missouri Highway Patrol and Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
The car was recovered with the assistance of Western Contracting and Benefiel Towing.
An autopsy has been ordered. Authorities say that no foul play was involved.
