OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Police are investigating after an 89-year-old man was killed in a fatal hit-and-run Tuesday morning.

Authorities released pictures Wednesday of what they believed was the suspect vehicle. Within a few hours the pickup was located and impounded. It initially looked like a 2007 to 2012 silver Chevy Silverado 1500, Z71 crew cab.

Police were still attempting to identify the driver.

Walter Tighe, 89, is the man who was hit and killed by on Tuesday. He was declared dead the the scene.

The truck was last seen going northbound on 36th Street, according to police.

Residents in the area say they are concerned for their safety.

Anyone with information on the suspect vehicle is asked to contact OPD or Omaha Crime Stoppers.
