Nebraska tornadoes: 173 homes destroyed in Douglas County, officials say

ELKHORN, Neb. (WOWT) - Douglas County officials released updated data on the widespread damage caused by last Friday’s tornadoes.

According to Douglas County Emergency Management, a total of 943 houses sustained some sort of damage — 173 of those are considered completely destroyed.

The tornado ravaged parts of Elkhorn, Waterloo and Blair, among other areas across the Omaha metro and well into western Iowa.
