Creighton men’s basketball announces loaded non-conference schedule

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Creighton men’s basketball unveiled a challenging non-conference schedule Thursday.

The Bluejays will play two preseason championship favorites in Kansas and Alabama this winter. Creighton will host the Jayhawks Dec. 4 and travel to Tuscaloosa on Dec. 14.

Prior to those marquee matchups, Creighton will play three games in the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas over Thanksgiving week, beginning with a contest against Oregon and former head coach Dana Altman. The Bluejays eliminated the Ducks from the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 last March in a double overtime thriller.

Creighton opens the season with five straight home games, starting Wednesday, Nov. 6 against Rio Grande Valley.

The 20-game Big East conference schedule is expected to be released in September.
