Creighton guard Trey Alexander declares for NBA Draft

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Trey Alexander has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, the Creighton guard announced on social media Friday evening.
“After so much thought and prayer, I have decided that it is time for me to pursue my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA,” he said in a post. Alexander had until Saturday’s deadline to enter his name in the draft.
The 6-foot-4 junior tested the draft waters last May before going back to Creighton, helping to lead the Bluejays to the Sweet 16.
This time, he is not expected to return to Omaha.
“To my Creighton family, thank you for taking a chance on a kid from Midwest City, Oklahoma,” he said. “We made history and some lifelong memories. To all the coaches and staff, thank you guys for pushing me and helping me reach my full potential as a player. These past three years have been some of the best years of my life.”
Alexander averaged 17.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game for Creighton last season, all career highs.
Ryan Kalkbrenner is expected to announce his decision ahead of Saturday’s deadline. The Bluejays center has one year of eligibility remaining should he choose to use it.
