OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - It’s been another warm and breezy day with highs in the 80s! Cooler air is making it’s way in, but it will not last. Winds pick up in the evening as some cooler air settles in for Friday.
Friday will be a cooler, but still warmer than average day, with highs in the upper 70s for most. It’ll be a nice day for the outdoors with lighter afternoon winds and plenty of sun.
Saturday brings a peak to our warm trend with a forecast high of 95 for Omaha! We have made this a 6 First Alert Weather Day due to the heat... we’ll be very close to the record daily high of 95, and the all time record high for October, 96. Fire weather watches are already in place W of the Metro due to the dry, warm and windy conditions expected.
We’ll be a couple of degrees warmer in Lincoln, 95 for the start of the Husker game and likely warming a degree or two more by 4PM!
Cooler air will already be settling in for some on Saturday... for the NW corner of the viewing area it will be a cooler but windy day thanks to a cold front that brings relief for the rest of us on Sunday.
A cool down arrives Sunday with a nice dip to the 70s... a quick return to the 80s by Tuesday.
