OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - After a brief taste of fall on Tuesday, we are back to the warmer trend today! Highs have climbed into the 80s with a breezy S wind... winds calm for the rest of the evening but pick back up Thursday.

We’ll be off to another cool start in the 40s and low 50s with a steady warm up to the low 80s... winds will be out of the NE and pick up in the evening as some cooler air settles in for Friday.

Friday will be a cooler, but still warmer than average day, with highs in the upper 70s for most.

Saturday brings a peak to our warm trend with a forecast high of 96 for Omaha! We have made this a 6 First Alert Weather Day due to the heat... we’ll be challenging the record daily high of 95, and the all time record high for October, 96.

We’ll be a couple of degrees warmer in Lincoln, 96 for the start of the Husker game and likely warming a degree or two more by 4PM!
