Rusty’s First Alert Forecast - Back to summer with record heat by the weekend
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - It’s another chilly morning in the 40s as we get Wednesday rolling but we’ll return to the summer warmth by the afternoon. Highs in the 80s are back for all of us as we’ll be nearly 10 degrees above average the rest of the week.
SSW wind gusts up near 30 mph are likely late this morning into the afternoon helping to warm us up.
More sunshine and warmth is likely Thursday too but the breezy wind will be from the northeast this time around.
All the focus will be on Saturday and the record potential on the way. Highs in the mid and upper 90s are looking more and more likely by Saturday afternoon across a good portion of the area. These could threaten all time October records and is the reason we’ve made it a 6 First Alert Weather Day.
This is all due to a cold front moving through the area and the the surge of warmth out ahead of it. Temperatures should be much cooler by Sunday though.
