Omaha Mayor announces schedule for annual town hall series

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha residents will be given several chances to voice their concerns with city leadership beginning next week, as Mayor Jean Stothert released the schedule for her town hall series Tuesday.

Stothert has hosted this annual tour of public meetings every fall during her terms, sans a two-year hiatus during the COVID pandemic.

The mayor said some of the main topics that she hopes to discuss with citizens are public safety, employment, business growth, urban core and neighborhood investment, financial management, and opportunity creation.

“It’s so important to meet people personally so we can work together to keep our momentum strong,” Stothert said in a news release Tuesday.

All meetings run from 6-7:30 p.m. and will be held at the following locations:

  • Oct. 21 - Camelot Community Center (9720 Cady Ave.)
  • Oct. 23 - Tri-Faith Center (13136 Faith Plaza)
  • Oct. 24 - Kids Can Community Center (4768 Q Street)
  • Oct. 28 - Buffett Middle School (14101 Larimore Ave.)
  • Oct. 30 - Hartman Elementary School (5530 N. 66th Street)
  • Nov. 12 - Pine Elementary School (810 Pine Street)
  • Nov. 18 - Omaha Public Library Millard (13214 Westwood Lane)
