OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Vice presidential candidate Tim Walz is headed back to the Omaha-metro on Saturday.

The afternoon rally marks the second time the Nebraska native has traveled back to the area since he was announced as Kamala Harris’ running mate. This will be Walz’s second trip to the Cornhusker state this election season. In August, his first visit drew a crowd both inside and outside of La Vista’s Astro Theater.

Walz is expected to arrive in Nebraska’s “blue dot” after a campaign stop in Chicago. He will then address a local campaign reception before heading to the rally, in a venue in Papillion, set to start at 5 p.m. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. There’s an online sign-up for the event to receive more details directly.

Now the governor of Minnesota, Walz was born in West Point, Neb.; raised in Valentine; attended Chadron State College; and taught in Alliance.

The Trump campaign is also having an event in Omaha on Saturday evening. RFK Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard will be at a “Reclaim America Tour” event downtown at Hilton Omaha.
