FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA/Gray News) - Police in Indiana are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and 10 others injured.

The Fort Wayne Police Department says officers responded to the 4900 block of Manistee Drive off of Stellhorn Road. Multiple callers reported hearing shots being fired and seeing people running in all directions Saturday night, WPTA reports.

Officers arrived on scene to find one person dead and several others hurt with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police say they know of 10 injured victims and believe they are all in non-life-threatening condition. The names and ages of the victims have not been released.

Mayor Sharon Tucker shared the following statement Sunday afternoon in response to the shooting:

“My heart is heavy today as we try to process the violence that occurred in our city last night. The FWPD is working tirelessly to learn more about what happened and bring those responsible to justice. The safety and security of our community are vital to help ensure a better future for Fort Wayne.
