Crews respond to fire in North Omaha, rescue snakes and tortoises

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Fire Department crews responded to a house fire in North Omaha Sunday.
Crews responded to a fire alarm at a house in North Omaha.
OFD said that while no human injuries were reported, firefighters found six snakes, two dogs, and one cat deceased at the scene.
Two snakes and two giant tortoises were found alive at the scene.
OFD estimates that the damages to the structure and contents of the house to $150,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
