Man running from authorities hit by car on I-480, Omaha Police say
Crash impacted Friday evening commute

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A man was in serious condition Friday night after Omaha Police said he fled from a car they thought had been abandoned on Interstate 480.
OPD Lt. Neal Bonacci told 6 News that a Douglas County Sheriff’s deputy and an OPD officer had stopped to check on a stolen vehicle, which they initially thought was abandoned on the interstate near Martha Street.
Bonacci said the suspect ran from the car and was struck by a vehicle on the interstate. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The incident had a major impact on interstate traffic in that area during the evening commute.
