LAUREL, Neb. (KTIV) - The Chief Justice of Nebraska’s Supreme Court has selected the judges that will serve on the three-judge panel that will decide whether Jason Jones will be sentenced to death, or life in prison, for murdering four people, in Laurel, Nebraska, in August of 2022.

Judges Patrick Heng and Timothy Burns will join Judge Bryan Meismer, who presided over Jones' trial, on that panel. Meismer will remain the presiding judge in the case.

There’s no date set for the sentencing hearings.

Last month, a jury in Dakota County convicted Jones of four counts of first-degree murder and decided there were six aggravating factors in the case that made Jones eligible for the death penalty.
