Police investigating Sunday morning homicide in North Omaha
One additional injury also reported from the shooting.
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Police are investigating a homicide that happened early Sunday morning.
According to a police statement, patrolling police found multiple people exchanging gunfire near 25th and Ames at around 4 a.m.
According to the statement, “hundreds” of people were running from the area.
Police found Alexander Whitcomb, 37, on the ground next to Los Diablos. Omaha Fire Department Medics performed CPR on Whitcomb at the scene, and took him to Nebraska Medicine, where was declared dead.
According to another statement, an additional shooting victim walked into Nebraska Medicine with a gunshot wound to the leg at around 11 a.m. Sunday. The victim said they were walking around Los Diablos at the time of the shooting, and later discovered that they were shot in the leg.
