Commission advances names for Nebraska Supreme Court Chief Justice

LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - The Judicial Nominating Commission for Chief Justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court has advanced four names for consideration by Gov. Pillen.
In a statement released Friday, the Commission has listed four judges up for Chief Justice since the current holder of the seat, Chief Justice Mike Heavican, is set to retire at the end of the month.
According to the statement, those under consideration are as follows:
- David J. A. Bargen, 1st District Court Judge
- PaTricia A. Freeman, Sarpy County Court Judge
- Jeffrey J. Funke, Nebraska Supreme Court Justice
- Ryan S. Post, Lancaster District Court Judge
