GREENFIELD, Iowa (Gray TV Iowa State Capitol Bureau) - One minute of destruction. The Adair County town of Greenfield and its population of about 2,000 residents may now face the biggest challenge in their history: rebuilding after Tuesday’s deadly tornado that tore through. Driving into Greenfield shows how much damage the tornado did as it terrorized the town for nearly a minute.

The hospital was damaged. So were at least 153 homes, according to emergency management officials. That doesn’t count the businesses, the town’s only gas station, farms and century-old trees.

And, of course, the residents. Four people have been confirmed dead by local authorities. Nearly three dozen, at least, were injured.
