In the first Game of the Week in the 2024 season, Millard North held off a late comeback from cross-town rival Millard West to pick up a 29-21 victory on the road in Nebraska Class A.

Also in Class A, Bellevue West erased a 14-point deficit in the second half to come away with a nail-biting 28-27 victory over Omaha Central, while Papillion La-Vista snuck out a 29-24 win over rival Papio South and Ralston trounced Lincoln Northwest 44-0.

Bennington — the defending champions in Nebraska Class B — picked up right where it left off with a 23-0 shutout victory against Waverley in Week 1, while the team the Badgers beat in the state finals a season ago, Skutt Catholic, beat Norris 29-13.

Across the river in Iowa, the two-time defending Class 4A state champion Lewis Central Titans started off with a dominant 31-10 win over Harlan on the road.
