NSAA State Swimming: Woods ends state swimming career on top

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The 2024 NSAA State Swimming Championships took place at the Devaney Sports Center on Saturday. Lincoln East’s Jadeon Carter won 2 events in freestyle swim while Lincoln Southeast’s Natalya Woods became a 6-time state champion.

Carter won the Boy’s 200 yard and 500 yard freestyle State titles and broke a Lincoln East school record for the 200 yard freestyle. As a team, Lincoln East Boys finished as the state runner up.

From Lincoln Southwest, Aidin Kolb captured the Boy’s 50 yard freestyle title edging out the competition by 3 tenths of a second!

On the girls side of things, Natalya Woods continued her dominance at the Devaney. The Lincoln Southeast Senior won her 5th and 6th state titles with 1st place finishes in the Girl’s 50 yard freestyle, and the Girl’s 100 yard freestyle.

Jadeon Carter wins state title in Boy's 200 and 500 yard freestyle. Carter also set a new school record in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:41:20.
