Eppley wants the public to know that simulated fire and smoke may be visible Friday.
The training comes a day after wildfires broke out across eastern Nebraska, due to dry conditions and wind. Burn bans are in effect in Douglas County, Pottawattamie County, and surrounding areas.
Officials say that the flame will be controlled on a “large concrete ramp and away from grassy fields.”
